My Quiet Fiction ~ Novellas & Poetry

Stories and poems about transformation, perception,
and the unseen tensions beneath ordinary life.

Welcome to my works
of quiet fiction.

I’m inspired by gentle tension, by the space between what is expected and what is beginning to change. My work grows out of stillness, observation, and the sense that something is always shifting beneath the visible surface.

My poetry is drawn entirely from my dreams, where images arrive without explanation and meaning forms through recognition rather than logic.

I’m interested in the moment just before transformation becomes undeniable.

Explore my poetry and novellas. I hope they inspire reflection, provoke thought, and bring you joy.

Silence & Flame

After the sudden death of her beloved uncle Sam,
Jeanne retreats into the hush of the old house they shared, where clocks hesitate, silence listens back, and memory lingers in the walls themselves.

But when a mysterious boy appears, Jeanne's grief begins to loosen into something stranger and more luminous.

As snow deepens and the boundary between waking and dreaming softens, Jeanne is drawn toward a quiet transformation, one shaped not by sacrifice, but by attention; not by destruction, but by flame's strange ability to consecrate what it touches.

Silence & Flames is a lyrical novella about grief, devotion, memory, and the courage required to become fully oneself.

Juliet Becoming

In a house shaped by expectation, Juliet moved as she always had, within its patterns, its rhythms, its quiet agreements.

But something began to shift when she met him. It gathered quietly, altering the way her body met the world, and how the world answered her in return.

It cannot be named, and so it cannot be contained.

What follows is not a rebellion, nor a refusal, but a turning, one that does not seek permission and does not turn back.

This is a short story of becoming, of what emerges when the structure of the world no longer fits the shape of what is rising within it.

Apricity: A Novella

In a quiet village, life follows the same rhythms it always has, until a boy suddenly falls ill.

At first, it is easy to explain. Then it is not.

As more signs emerge, a midwife begins to sense what others do not. A scholar reaches for language that does not hold. Families move through their days, adjusting in small ways as something unseen takes hold.

Apricity is a luminous and atmospheric novella set in fourteenth-century England, tracing the early spread of a great illness through the quiet, human moments that unfold in its shadow.

Night Murals: Poems From Dreams

These poems emerge from a place beyond waking, drawn almost entirely from dreams where image precedes explanation and meaning forms without the need for language.

What appears within them is not constructed, but received, fragments of rooms, voices, and encounters that arrive fully formed and resist being resolved.

Night Murals gathers these moments as they are, allowing them to remain unsettled, and in doing so, reveals the quiet coherence that exists beneath their surface.
